Martin Fusek

Martin has studied Organic Chemistry and then finished PhD in Biochemistry in 1988. After spending 6 years as a postdoc in laboratories in USA and Germany he started to work for in industry, specifically for Sigma-Aldrich and Merck. Since 2007 he is focused on the tech transfer at the IOCB in Prague.



Ladislava Souckova, PhD
Patent attorney

Ladislava graduated in Biochemistry and after 9 years of work as a research assistant at the Institute of Pharmacology in Prague and one-year fellowship in France she finished her PhD in 1993. In 1997 she passed her patent attorney exams and since then she has worked in the field of IP protection.


Jaromir Zahradka, PhD

Business development manager
Jaromir has been working at the IOCB TTO since 2012 and is participating in almost all aspects of academy-to-business Technology Transfer. He mainly focuses on technology potential evaluation, IP valuation and technology marketing, but also participates at IOCB spin-off activities. By now, three spin-off companies (excluding IOCB TTO) have been established at the IOCB. The newest, Riocath Medical Devices a.s., was established 2014. Jaromir was nominated by IOCB as a supervisory board member.

Jaromir holds a MSc. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Charles University in Prague and earned another masters degree in Corporate Economics, Management and Enterprise valuation at The University of Economics in Prague.



 Jan Šotola, PhD
Project Manager

Jan graduated in Physical Chemistry form the University of Chemical Technology in Prague and decided for a research stay at the “Joint Laboratory of Silicates” before he started his PhD studies at The Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry” of the Academy of Sciences in Prague. He stayed as a postdoc at the Fritz-Haber Institute (Max Planck Society) in Berlin, Germany and at  the Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry in Prague. Jan has a long experience with Industry. He started working as a Development manger for PAL in Prague, before he became a TQM manger, API Business director and finally R&D director at Zentiva. After short period of consulting activity he spent 2 years by developing oral insulin tablets. Jan has joint the IOCB-TTo team in 2014.

Julie Proft
Project Manager Oncology

After graduating in  Biochemistry from the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt Univeristy in Greifswald, Germany Julie joined the group of Martin Groschup at the Friedrich Loeffler Institute in Germany to earn a PhD on the topic of Mad Cow Disease. After her PhD she stayed in Calgary, Canada as a postdoc before returning to Europe for another postdoc at the IOCB in Prague, she joined the TTO team in January 2016.

Katerina Habelova
Projects administrative

After graduating with a degree in biochemistry from Charles University in 2003, Katerina worked in the clinical laboratory Aeskulab.  In 2005, she sought a new opportunity with Sigma-Aldrich as a Life Science Specialist in the sales department and joined the technology transfer team at IOCB (as the Assistant of the CEO) in 2012.
